Irrational Fears & Phobias

You may have lived with an irrational fear or phobia for many years. Perhaps, you have missed another holiday because you can’t bring yourself to book a flight. Does visiting the dentist or GP surgery for a blood test or vaccination feels terrifying ! Our fears can have a real impact on our everyday life. For some people, the fear of driving can be so overwhelming, they struggle to a leave home at all. Such an intense fear or phobia can then lead to general anxiety, depression, and isolation. Hypnotherapy is a very gentle and effective method for overcoming fears and phobias. I use effective techniques to process the phobic response pattern and re framing it with a more positive helpful response.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is highly effective in helping to address addictions, including alcohol, drugs and smoking. I take you through a process where you visualize your life without having to worry about your dependence.

Over a course of treatments, you learn how to manage and control your thoughts so that you no longer need the thing  that previously you could not live without! There is no magic or blind faith involved. You just need to be determined, and totally committed to achieving your goal. 

To quit smoking just one extended session is normally all that is needed.

Trauma & PTSD

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is essentially a memory processing error caused by a traumatic experience. Not everyone who is exposed to a traumatic event will develop PTSD but for those who do, the impact can be devastating. The involuntary recall of the trauma can be very distressing and is associated with avoidance behaviours, hyper-arousal and emotional numbing. It can affect relationships and impair the person’s ability to function and carry out normal everyday tasks. 

PTSD can usually be treated very quickly – even when it has been present for a long time. C-PTSD can also often be treated relatively quickly, although it generally takes longer, as you would expect. My preferred treatment method for PTSD and C-PTSD is Dr David Muss’ Rewind Trauma Therapy. 

The Rewind offers a way of permanently stopping the involuntary recall by filing the traumatic event so it comes under control. For many people with PTSD, the Rewind therapy is a valuable solution, it’s carefully measured and controlled to explore traumatic memories without disclosure of  private details of their trauma.
